Nepal Army Agricultural Science Institute has been established in Lamjung's Bensisahar municipality ward no. 2 BagaleGau.The Institute of Agricultural Sciences, established by the Army Welfare Fund under the Nepal Army Welfare Scheme, was inaugurated on Monday by Nepal Army Chief of Staff Purnachandra Thapa. Addressing the program, Chief of Army Staff Thapa said that he has been working in the field of education and health under the Army Welfare Fund. The Institute of Agricultural Sciences has stated that it will assist in the production of skilled manpower in the agricultural sector. Emphasis has been laid on modernization, commercialization of agriculture and adoption of technology of developed nations by constructing model agricultural study centers. He has expressed confidence that a new revolution can be brought in agriculture and the relationship between soldiers and civilians will be expanded. 

Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Ram Prasad Thapaliya, said that one should engage in commercial agriculture rather than subsistence farming. He said that the Institute of Agricultural Sciences would play a big role for the development of commercial agriculture. He expressed his best wishes for making Lamjung's institute a model, excellent and first choice.

Prabhu Ram Sharma, acting chief of the Nepal Army, who has been appointed with effect from July 10, said that all citizens would have the opportunity to study at the Agricultural Research Center, so they would not have to go abroad to work in the sun and create employment at home. He said that everyone should emphasize on professionalism as agriculture is an important issue. According to Shyam Krishna Ghimire, principal of the Nepal Army Agricultural Science Institute, the institute is spread over an area of ​​450 ropanis.

In the field of administration and education, infrastructure including building, dormitory and laboratory have been completed and operated. In the agricultural sector, farms, fruits, vegetables, spices, cash crops, cereals, fruit orchards and tea plantations have been established. Poultry farms, cattle farms, goat farms, bagunar farms and fish ponds have been established in the animal husbandry sector.

The institute has got affiliation from Tribhuvan University for teaching B.Sc.AG. He said that the study will start from December. Chief of Bensishahar Municipality Guman Singh Aryal, Ward no.
